Field Trip to WEEE Park

2024-10-09

On October 2nd and 9th, our ENVS5112 class embarked on a field trip to WEEE Park in Tuen Mun, an engaging part of our course activities focused on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) disposal and environmental sustainability.

WEEE Park features five distinct zones: the Exhibition Corridor, Unloading Bay, Buffer Storage, Processing Hall, and Dashboard Area. Each zone is designed with captivating visuals, interactive games, and animations that highlight the critical issues surrounding WEEE disposal and its effects on both the environment and human health.

One of the most insightful aspects of our visit was the designated viewing gallery, which allowed us to observe the facility's operations firsthand. This experience deepened our understanding of the recycling and treatment processes involved in managing WEEE. We learned not only about the technology used but also about the importance of transforming waste into valuable resources.

Overall, our visits to WEEE Park were both educational and inspiring, reinforcing the relevance of our studies in real-world applications.
