Field Trip to Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park

On 16 February 2024, a group of MSc EHS students joined a field trip to Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park. This renowned marine park in Hong Kong spans 260 hectares and is known for its vibrant coral communities and diverse marine ecosystems. Accompanied by knowledgeable guides and enthusiastic WWF volunteers, the participants embarked on an unforgettable educational journey. The students had the opportunity to explore the rocky shores, meticulously studying the organisms inhabiting the intertidal zone. Aboard a glass-bottom boat, they were treated to a captivating coral-observation expedition. Witnessing the vibrant colors of the corals, the students deepened their understanding of the various coral species found in Hong Kong. This field trip not only provided practical experience but also instilled a profound appreciation for marine ecosystems among the students. Armed with newfound knowledge, they are equipped to actively contribute to sustainable practices and conservation efforts.
